UPDATE: Subject arrested in Shelby County.

On November 23, 2015 at approximately 22:17 hours, patrol units from the Rusk County Sheriff's Office responded to an altercation on CR 3281, where there were reports of shots fired and one victim wounded.  Upon their arrival a male victim was found to be deceased on the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.  Witness reports advised that the suspect had fled the scene in a red 1995 Pontiac Firebird headed southy.  The vehicle was later found abandoned near CR 3285 in Rusk County.

Golden Harvest Ministries Club Nov. meeting

At their November 16 meeting, members of the Golden Harvest Ministries Club collected toys and made monetary donations for the Children's Advocacy Center which serves Shelby and San Augustine Counties.  Executive Director Denise Merriman, Family Advocate Marcia Jackson, and Shelby County Assistant DA Steven Shires, gave updates on Texas statistics for child abuse, discussed services provided by the Center, made members aware of signs of child abuse, and gave the goal of the Advocacy Center.

Margo Hooper awarded the American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention

Margo Hooper, a junior at Stephen F. Austin  and Timpson Alumna -  class of 2013, was awarded the American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.  The American FFA Degree is awarded to members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to FFA and made significant accomplishments in their supervised agricultural experiences.

Timpson Science Teachers Teach Other Texas Teachers Timpson High School science teachers Cindy Sessions and Teresa Jourden  presented two times at CAST (the largest conference for science teachers in the US). CAST is sponsored by the Science Teachers Association of Texas.  Over five thousand science teachers from all over the state attended this year. They  presented a Biology Review Journal that Ms. Sessions and Mrs.
