Bears beat Cardinals, wait for playoffs

The Timpson Bears boosted their District 11 2-A record to 2-2 last Friday by defeating the Maud Cardinals 27-18 at home for Timpson’s Senior Night. The Bears have clinched third place in their conference. The Bears have a bye this week and will await the pairings of this year’s UIL playoffs in two weeks. THS finishes the regular season with a 2-7 overall record. Maud fell to 5-3 and has a 1-2 conference mark.

Timpson's Running M Feed now open to the public

A Grand Opening ceremony was held for the Running M Feed Store last Saturday by the Timpson Area Chamber of Commerce. The new store is located in Timpson on the corner of Highway 59 and Highway 84 as you head to Mount Enterprise.
Owner Shelby Miliford, Chamber of Commerce president Paul Smith, Mayor Debra Smith and a crowd of supporters, as well as media, gathered for the event.

Bears come up short against Mustangs

Last Friday, the  Timpson Bears football team suffered a tough District 11 Class 2A loss to the visiting Overton Mustangs, by a 9-7 score. Timpson now stands at 1-1 in conference play with three league games remaining to be played. THS is 1-6 overall.
The Bears started their first possesseion with the ball at their own 40 yd line. They punted after finding themselve in a fourth down and four-yards to-go situation with 10:42 left in the opening period.
