Timpson’s ‘Agents for Change’ holding food drive

The 3rd,4th, and 5th graders of Timpson Elementary, known as ‘Agents for Change’, will be be sponsoring a non perishable food drive for the people of our community who are less fortunate then others. In the U.S. 1 in 6 families struggle with having enough food.Timpson food for thought is a part of the East Texas Food Bank. On the third month of each Friday they give out food to all the families in need.

Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society to Hear David Swanzy at November Meeting


Noted author, educator, and historian David Swanzy will speak to the Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society at their regular monthly meeting in the Timpson Public Library next Wednesday. A member of both TAGHS and the Shelby County Historical Society as well as editor of We the People of Shelby County, Dr. Swanzy is an authority on Shelby County history.

Bears headed to football playoffs

The Timpson Bears are heading into this year’s UIL varsity football playoff. THS will head to Palestine High School next Thursday, November 12 where they will face the Iola Bulldogs in the bi-district round at 7 p.m.
Timpson posted a 3-7 mark overall after beating Maud and Mount Enterprise in District 11 2A play, and receiving a forfeit from Fruitvale High School.
Iola is 8-2 overall and went 4-1 in District 12 2A they were runners-up to the Normangee Panthers.

Timpson FFA Competes in Pineywoods Leadership Development

Pineywoods District Leadership Development Events were held on November 3rd at SFASU.  Timpson FFA competed in 11 events. Timpson FFA also achieved the honor of 2nd Place Sweepstakes competing against 19 schools ranging from 1A to 5A.
