Pastor Richard Jones is the Interim Pastor at FBC in Timpson. He has been supplying at the church since October 4, 2015. Pastor Jones recently retired from Calvary Baptist Church in Longview, Texas after 27 ½ years. Before that, he was a Youth Pastor for 22 years. He served in churches in California, Oklahoma, Florida, and Texas.
Timpson Area Chamber of Commerce will begin our 2016 year with our annual membership Banquet January 21st at the Sunshine (Frontier) Café, 101 Austin Street, Timpson Texas beginning at 5:30 pm. Fried fish will be on the dinner menu, we are very excited about having Charlie Dromgoole, Chief Executive officer for Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce for our guest speaker.
Timpson’s City Council met for a Special Meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Normally, City Council does not meet in December. The Special Meeting was called in order to hire a Financial Auditor for the fiscal year 2014-2015 so that the City could meet the March 2016 deadline, which qualifies Timpson to receive grants.
