Rams edge out Indians 46-45

Despite the fact that the Groveton High School’s football program has been less than stellar in recent years, Indian Stadium remains an intimidating facility, with its multiple state championship banners lining the fences. The Joaquin Rams didn’t expect an easy win when they traveled here Friday night, and they were right, as the resurgent Indians pushed them to the limit.

Bears fall on road to Lions

The Timpson Bears varsity football team fell to  0-4 after a hard 31-20 loss to the Lovelady Lions at Lion’s Field last Friday.
Lovelady deferred possession to Timpson after winning the coin toss. Timpson’s first offensive drive stalled and they were forced to punt with 11:24 still left in the opening period.

Tigers get stung by Yellowjackets

The Tenaha Tigers have now fallen to 0-4 after a tough 52-7 road loss to the (5-0) Alto Yellowjackets, at Alto High School, last Friday night.
Tenaha’s lone score came on quarterback C.J. Horn’s 8-yard pass to Trai Gardner in the second quarter.
Tenaha (0-4) had 143 yards passing and minus two yards rushing.
Colton Goeke caught three passes for 101 yards for
the Tigers.
