Tigers clinch seventh straight district title

The Tenaha Tigers won their seventh consecutive district championship, last Friday, with a convincing 47-6 win over the hometown Overton Mustangs.
Tenaha took a 7-0 lead, with 2:38 left in the first quarter, on a 15-yard Ladarrius Garrett scoring run.

Bears beat Cardinals, wait for playoffs

The Timpson Bears boosted their District 11 2-A record to 2-2 last Friday by defeating the Maud Cardinals 27-18 at home for Timpson’s Senior Night. The Bears have clinched third place in their conference. The Bears have a bye this week and will await the pairings of this year’s UIL playoffs in two weeks. THS finishes the regular season with a 2-7 overall record. Maud fell to 5-3 and has a 1-2 conference mark.

'Riders win eighth straight game

The Center Roughriders have won their eighth straight game this season, a 57-35 win over the Pleasant Grove Hawks. They are atop the District 6 4-A leaderboard with the only 4-0 record in the conference. The ‘Riders have only one district game remaining, with the 3-1 Gladewater Bears next Friday, November 6 at 6 p.m.
The Bears only loss came at the hands of the Atlanta Rabbits. The winner of Friday’s Center-Gladewater contest will be the conference champion.


Tenaha slides past Timpson, keeps district winning streak alive

Last Friday the Tenaha Tigers pleased their hometown crowd by defeating their neighboring high school’s Timpson Bears by a 24-14 margin to stay undefeated in District 11 Class 2A play.
Tenaha is now on a 32-game district winning streak which dates back to their last conference loss, a 42-29 loss to the Mount Enterprise Wildcats on Oct. 31, 2008.
