Roughriders drop 38-36 decision to Bears, head to playoffs as #1 seed

After a 38-36 loss to the Gladewater Bears, last Friday, which caused a three way tie in District 6 4-A, the Center Roughriders varsity football team will be facing the Rains Wildcats at Longview’s Pine Tree High School on Friday, November 13 at 7:30p.m. The game will be for the bi-district round of the UIL playoffs.

Tenaha ends regular season with district winning streak still alive

The Tenaha Tigers football team finished their 2015 season by going undefeated and beating the Mount Enterprise Wildcats by a convincing 54-8 score. They ended their regular season with a 5-5 overall standing.Tenaha has not lost a district football contest since October 31, 2008. This was their seventh consecutive conference championship.

Bears headed to football playoffs

The Timpson Bears are heading into this year’s UIL varsity football playoff. THS will head to Palestine High School next Thursday, November 12 where they will face the Iola Bulldogs in the bi-district round at 7 p.m.
Timpson posted a 3-7 mark overall after beating Maud and Mount Enterprise in District 11 2A play, and receiving a forfeit from Fruitvale High School.
Iola is 8-2 overall and went 4-1 in District 12 2A they were runners-up to the Normangee Panthers.

Fillies travel to TJC for Region XIV Tournament

The Panola College Fillies are 27-7 and ranked 14th in the nation heading into this weekend’s Region XIV Volleyball Tournament hosted by Tyler Junior College. Panola enters the tournament as the second place seed from the North, setting them up for a rematch at 9 a.m. in Wagstaff Gymnasium with Wharton County Junior College, a team currently ranked 16th nationally.
