Bears come up short against Mustangs

Last Friday, the  Timpson Bears football team suffered a tough District 11 Class 2A loss to the visiting Overton Mustangs, by a 9-7 score. Timpson now stands at 1-1 in conference play with three league games remaining to be played. THS is 1-6 overall.
The Bears started their first possesseion with the ball at their own 40 yd line. They punted after finding themselve in a fourth down and four-yards to-go situation with 10:42 left in the opening period.

Bulldogs defeat Pirates

The Garrison Bulldogs football team won last Friday’s  conference football game, on the road, over the Deweyville Pirates,  by a score of 27-12. Garrison now stands at 2-0 in District 11 Class 3A play, and have an overall standing of 5-2. Deweyville falls to 2-5 overall, and are 0-2 in conference play.
Garrison only allowed a safety to the Pirates in the first half, and led Deweyville 13-2 at halftime.

'Riders beat Tatum, head to showdown with Atlanta

The Center Roughriders football team has undoubtably faced their easiest two District 6 Class 4A opponents and have beaten, Spring Hill 56-10, two weeks ago, and defeated Tatum 42-7 last Friday. They are now 2-0 in conference play and boast a 6-1 overall record. Center hasn’t lost a game since Week 1 when they lost to Waskom at home by a 34-22 margin. The ‘Riders are currently on a six-game winning streak.

Timpson Cross Country Team competed in New Summerfield

The Timpson JH Cross Country Team competed in New Summerfield on Wednesday and crushed the competition. The girls had their best performance of the year and came home as the District Champions! The Lady Bears finished with five runners in the top 10 with Erica Renick 10th, Ashton Harris 8th, Jaycee Campbell 3rd, Harlie Ware 2nd, and the individual District Champion was Sadie Ramsey 1st. Also on the JH XC team is Mckenzie Wynn and Alexis Miller.
