Tigers whip Lions in home opener
The Tenaha Tigers moved their record to 2-0 on the season with a 47-0 win over the Lovelady Lions, Friday night at Raymond Jackson Stadium. The Tigers rolled up 416 yards of offense while holding the Lions to 71 yards.
The Tigers received the opening kickoff and it didn't take long for the Tigers to score as Jeremy Patton scored on a 1-yard run, Manuel Loredo kicked the extra point and the Tigers led 7-0 with 7:59 left in the 1st quarter. After the Tigers forced a Lion punt the Tigers scored again on a 48-yard run by Jordan Marshall, the extra point was good and the Tigers led 14-0 with 4:50 left in the 1st quarter.
After another Lion's punt Trey Tutt scored on a 79-yard run, the extra point was no good and the Tigers would lead 20-0 with 1:40 left in the first quarter. The Tigers would score again as time expired in the first quarter on a 67-yard touchdown pass from Hayden Jenkins to Eric Smith and the Tigers would lead 27-0.
With 6:55 left in the 2nd quarter Jenkins would hit Patton on a 69-yard touchdown pass and the Tigers would lead 34-0. With 3:20 left in the 2nd quarter Michael Hogg would score on a 75-yard run and the Tigers would go into halftime leading 40-0.
Marshall would put the finishing touches on the scoring with a 46-yard run in the 3rd quarter. The clock would run the whole second half.
The Tigers will be at home Friday night as they host T.K. Gorman, game time is 7:30.
