Wildcats struggle in road game at Carlisle

The Mount Enterprise Wildcats struggled throughout Friday’s contest with the hometown Carlisle Indians varsity football team, and eventually fell 34-6.
Mount Enterprise now falls to 0-2 on the season and will look to reboung against the Union Grove Lions next Friday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Wildcats Stadium. The lions are 0-2 as well after losing to west Rusk 36-7 and Carlisle 36-6.
The Wildcats first offensive drive stalled so they punted and Blake Parham was able to down the ball just inside Carlisle’s 20 yard line.
Five plays later Rico Pereles rushed for a 1-yard score with 6:41 still remaining and Luis Hernadez added on an extra point kick for the indians to give them a 7-0 advantage.
Mikael Savala added a 35-yard touchdown reception from Collin Gray with 3:49 left in the first quarter to put Carlisle up 14-0.
Carlisle lost a scoring opportunity when a timely hit by the Wildcats made Pereles fumble into the endzone. This gave the Wildcats possession of the football at their 20-yard line to start the second period. Mount Enterprise punted to Carlislewith 7 minutes left in the second period and Pereles returned the kick 22 yards to  the Mt. Enterprise 41 yard line.
Carlisle gained a 21-0 advantage with a 28-yard score by Braydon Mason with 5:50 remaining in the first half.
The Wildcat score came when Blake Parham made an explosive kickoff return on the next play to pull MEHS to within 21-6.
Carlisle answered with a 53-yard pass from Collins to Savala with 5:17 left in the half.
Wildcat Kavonski Thompson finished the night with 21 carries for 74 yds.
Christian Hammett  had 10 carries for 28 yards, Jase Jones 13 for 48 yards, Blake Parham 3 for 25 yards and the kick return for a 78 yard touchdown.
