Wildcats improve to 2-2 with second straight win

The Mount Enterprise Wildcats improved their 2015 varsity football record  to 2-2 on the year with a 32-31 win over the hometown Grapeland Sandies last Friday night.
Kavonski Thompson scored two Wildcats touchdowns to help in the cause. Teammate Jase Jones passed for a Mount Enterprise touchdown and ran for another. Jones also connected with Christian Hammett on a 70-yard touchdown pass for the Wildcats first score of the night. The Wildcats scored three touchdowns during the first half.
After starting the year at 0-2, the Wildcats have won two staight games, including a Week 3 home win over the Union Grove Lions by a 58-18 score.
Kavonski Thompson had 34 carries for 171 yards, a touchdown and thre 2-point conversions.
Jase jones had nine carries for 59 yards, two touchdowns and a 2 -point conversion.
Christian Hammett had a 66-yard touchdown from Jones. Blake Parham has 10 carries for 65 yards.
Mount Enterprise will play host to the Cross Roads Bobcats for a , non-district, Homecoming game on Friday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Bobcats are coming off a 14-6 win over the Overton Mustangs. The Bobcats record now stands at 2-1.
Grapeland will next face the Normangee Panthers.
