Mt. Enterprise High School running back Kendre Miller received the Texas Ford Built Tough, The American State Bank, and the honorable recognition of Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week awards.
In the Wildcats first game of the season against Colmesneil on Aug. 30, Miller ran the ball 14 times for a total of 412 yards and achieved 5 rushing carries. Scoring 7 of the touchdowns, Miller carried the team to victory with a final score 56-20. With these statistics, Miller broke the Mt. Enterprise High school record for yards and touchdowns.
“It felt amazing winning such prestigious awards coming from a 2A school,” said Miller. “I would like to thank the coaches, our team, and especially the linemen. I expect us to finish the season undefeated and win a district ball. I have been asked what my proudest achievement was and my only response is that I appreciate all of my awards as a whole. As a football player in Texas, I am a part of the whole and I was honored to be chosen among all of the great players in Texas.”
Miller has presently been awarded football scholarships to the University of Wyoming and Southern Mississippi. He also has additional colleges expressing interest. Miller has not yet made a decision as to where he would like to attend college but he is certain that he wants to major in the field of Kinesiology. He is planning on studying to become a physical therapist.
