Mt. Enterprise varsity girls’ basketball team played in the Longview Christian Heritage tournament
The Mt. Enterprise varsity girls’ basketball team played in the Longview Christian Heritage tournament on Nov. 29 – Dec. 1. They played hard every day and came home with third place in the tournament.
On Thursday the girls played against Longview Trinity winning 31-30. On Friday they played Overton and won 48-21. On Saturday they played Christian Heritage winning 37-23, sealing their third place spot.
“I was nervous at first but after the first game I got comfortable playing with the team. I knew they were there for me,” said Freshman Caitlon Cox.
The varsity boys’ basketball team played in the Union Grove tournament over the same three days. Thursday they played East Texas Christian Academy winning 50-35. Friday they played against McLeod but lost 23-47. Saturday they played Union Grove losing 40-69. Overall they placed 4th.
“We played pretty good with the amount of practice we’ve had. There’s a lot we have to work on,” said Junior Derrick Jackson.
