Garrison Bulldogs hosts Linden-Kildare’s Tigers

The Garrison Bulldogs hosted Linden-Kildare’s Tigers (LK) looking to right the ship and put themselves back into contention in district play. LK wasted no time going 47 yards to the end zone on the 1st play from scrimmage on a run by Ladavion Johnson but could only move the ball at times before being turned away in the remainder of the half. Their one PAT was blocked. Garrison’s Sabastion Porter then posted 3 scores in the half to give the Bulldogs a cushion at 20-7. The first score took only 2:03 to cover 55 yards capped by a 2 yard run by Porter. The other two scores came in the 2nd quarter at 3:57 on a 26 yard catch and run from Chace Rodriguez and a 3 yard run with :07 left. Garrison had appeared to score before but a penalty nullified that. Penalties backed them up to 3rd and 30 but a conversion from Rodriguez to Porter set them up in the nick of time. The Dogs opened up the 3rd quarter on fire taking but 49 seconds to cover 60 yards. Jakadric Watts found the zone on an 18 yard reverse and later took a 75 yard catch and run to the promised land to put Garrison up 34-6 at the end of 3. Porter ran for his 4th TD from 12 yards early in the 4th quarter before the Tigers Johnson scored again from 1 yard. LK added a 2 point conversion. The Bulldogs Jalon Cotton took over at RB and went in on a 20 yard run with :33 seconds remaining and Andy Marquez hit his 6th extra point of the evening. Final score Garrison 48 Linden Kildare 14. Both teams are 1-1 in district play. This week the Bulldogs travel to Timpson for another installment of “The Battle of the Attoyac.”
