Tenaha PD traffic stop results in drug bust
On Saturday, December 1, 2018, Officer Lawrence with the Tenaha Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 96 South near Loop 157.
Officer Lawrence observed a Cadillac passenger car fail to maintain a single lane and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
Officer Lawrence made contact with the driver later identified as 34-year-old Jeremy Patton. Upon approach of the vehicle Officer Lawrence detected the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle and or person.
After further investigation and a probable cause search of the vehicle Officer Lawrence was able to locate and seize a baggie of marijuana, weighing approximately 4 grams and a quantity of multi-colored pills which were believed to be Ecstasy, weighing approximately 20 grams.
Patton was taken into custody, transported to the jail and booked in without incident on the following charges; Possession of Controlled Substance; Felony 2 and Possession of Marijuana Misdemeanor (B).
