Sheriff Lake's Weekly Report: 9/29/2017 - 10/5/2017



FRIDAY 9/29/17         


Deputy Phillip Grimes took a report of theft that occurred.  Complainant stated that he had been letting a male subject stay at his residence. Complainant advised that when he arrived home earlier he noticed that the subject had moved out and stolen some of his stuff before leaving. Complainant stated that the subject stole his toaster, microwave, 2 televisions, a PlayStation 4, DVD player, clothes, shoes and tools. This case is being investigated.


Deputy Jeff Martin was dispatched to a residence in the Beckville area regarding a theft that had already occurred. Complainant stated that some unknown actor(s} came onto his property and stole his 20-foot trailer, Honda four-wheeler and Suzuki four-wheeler. All items were entered into TCIC/NCIC.

MONDAY 10/2/17


Deputy Chris Dickerson responded to CR 304 in reference to a report of stolen firearms. Complainant stated that some unknown actor(s} entered his truck without permission and stole his Benelli Super Nova 12-gauge shotgun, Savage 30.06 caliber rifle and a Nikon pro staff scope. The firearms were entered into TCIC/NCIC as stolen.


Deputy Joshua Nagle took a report of burglary of a vehicle that occurred on Hwy 315. Complainant stated that some actor(s} stole his Android ZTE cell phone out of his vehicle. This case is being investigated.


 Deputy Chris Dickerson responded to a residence in the Beckville area regarding a burglary that had just occurred. Upon arrival Deputy Dickerson met with the complainant who stated that she was woken up by her dog barking. Complainant advised that she grabbed a pistol and opened her bedroom door. Complainant advised that she noticed her back-door open and one of her two vacuum cleaners gone. Complainant stated that she ran to the open door and observed a small car stopped up the road and she watched an individual get into the car. Deputy Dickerson observed marks on the door as if someone pried it open. Deputy Dickerson also located the missing vacuum cleaner leaned up against a fence. Nothing else appeared to be missing from the residence. This case is under investigation.


Deputy Robert Duncan took a report of a burglary that occurred. Complainant stated that some unknown actor(s) entered his storage building and stole his backpack blower, 6" vise, a case of 10W40 oil and a Kobalt air ratchet. This case is under investigation.



TUESDAY 10/3/17


Deputy Chadd Gray took a report of burglary of a vehicle that occurred on CR 110. Complainant stated that some unknown actor(s) entered her vehicle without permission and stole two of her checkbooks. Complainant advised that she would be contacting the bank to cancel the account. This case is under investigation and the area has been posted for extra patrol.


Deputy Richard Mojica was dispatched to a business on Hwy 315 in reference to a burglary that has already occurred. Upon arrival Deputy Mojica met with the complainant who stated that some unknown actor(s) pried the door open to their office building to gain entry. Complainant advised that once inside, the actor(s) stole a red First State Bank money bag that contained $100 in cash, a blue Toshiba laptop and a MATCO Diagnostic Scanner Determinator.

Possible evidence was collected at the scene and this case is under investigation.



While on patrol, Deputy Jeremy Nagle observed a red truck parked at a cemetery. Deputy Nagle ran the license plate through dispatch and was advised that the plate returned to a 4-door car. Deputy Nagle made contact with the subject and while speaking with the subject observed that he had two different license plates on the vehicle and an altered registration sticker. Deputy Nagle had the subject exit the vehicle and asked him if there was anything illegal inside the vehicle to which the subject advised that he had a small amount of marijuana. A search of the vehicle was then conducted. While searching, Deputy Nagle located the marijuana as well as a set of brass knuckles and a 20-gauge single shot shotgun. A criminal history check showed that the subject was a convicted felon. The subject was placed under arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, prohibited weapon and displaying a fictitious license plate.


THURSDAY 10/5/17


MISCELLANEOUS: Dispatch has received calls regarding a scam going on. Caller advised that a person identifying themselves as a representative from dish network called offering her an upgrade if she would pay $190.00. The "representative" then requested her pin number and then the last four of her social security number.  Dish Network has been contacted and advised that they are not offering these upgrades and that this is a scam. Don't give any of your personal information.
