Sheriff's Activity in Garrison 12/31/2017 - 1/4/2018

On Sunday, December 31, 2018 at 6:14 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of CR 274 in regard to a house fire. The deputy was disregarded while in route when it was found the house fire was a bonfire.


On Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to HWY 59 North in regard to a reckless driver. The Deputy patrolled the area and was unable to locate the described vehicle.


On Monday, January 1, 2018 at 3:35 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Medical Center ER in reference to what was at first reported as a go cart accident. Upon arrival at the ER, it was discovered that a 15-year-old male driver suffered multiple lacerations to the head and face following a crash. A 14-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries. Further investigation at the scene of the crash revealed that the incident occurred on CR 2641 and the two juveniles did not have permission to use the vehicle. What was at first called a go cart was found to have been a 800cc Polaris RZR side by side.


Sheriff's deputies stopped out with a suspicious vehicle on FM 2435 and Hwy 59. The driver and occupants were cleared through dispatch.


On, Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:14 a.m., Constable Smith was dispatched to the 300 block of Hidden Valley Drive in reference to an alarm call. This officer was disregarded while in route.


On, Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:32 a.m., Constable Sowell and Deputy Reyna responded to a reported suspicious person at 15890 Hwy 59 North. Upon arrival officers learned that the person in question was working in the apt complex. No further action taken.


On Friday, January 5, 2018 at 6:05 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of US Hwy 59 North in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that an unidentified male took the keys out of a running vehicle and threw them across the parking lot of the store. The subject then left the scene. The driver of the vehicle advised that he wished to pursue criminal charges. At the time of this report, this deputy has been unable to locate the actor. No further action at this time.


The sheriff's office responded to a burglary of a building in the 200 block of FM 2476. The caller advised that within the last two weeks, someone had stolen their chainsaw from the storage building.
