Sheriff Kevin Lake Weekly Report
Deputy Jeremy Nagle took a report of an assault that occurred. Complainant stated that while she was at a school event, she had a verbal altercation with a female subject. Complainant advised that during the altercation the subject reached up and grabbed her esophagus with her fingertips and dug her fingernails into her neck. Pictures were collected of the complainant's injuries on her neck and all information has been forwarded to the DA's office.
Deputy Jeff Martin took a report of harassment and terroristic threat. Complainant stated that her ex-husband would not stop calling and texting her. Complainant advised that the subject was threatening to harm her in the text messages. Deputy Martin read over the text several of the text messages which were in fact very threatening. Deputy Martin observed there to be well over 100 text messages. All information has been forwarded to the DA's office.
Deputy Jacob Samford initiated a stop on a vehicle for an expired tag. As the vehicle came to a stop Deputy Samford observed the back passenger door opened and a male subject exit the vehicle. The subject walked away from the vehicle and into a nearby building despite Deputy Samford repeatedly asking him to stop. Deputy
Samford requested additional units to his location to assist in locating the subject. CPD officers arrived to assist and did a search of the building but were unable to locate the subject. Information was gathered on the subject and will be forwarded to the DA's office. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for DWLI, expired registration and no insurance and dispatch notified a wrecker service to take possession of the vehicle.
WEDNESDAY 11/13/19 Deputy Heather Green took a report of theft that occurred.
Complainant stated that while he was in and out of the hospital some unknown actor(s) stole 6 or 7 cows as well as his Hereford bull. Complainant advised that his fences are good and he does not believe they got out. This case is being investigated.
Deputy Phillip Grimes took a report of a burglary that occurred on FM 31 S. Complainant stated that upon arriving at the residence he discovered that the front door had been forced open. Complainant advised that a locked bathroom door had also been forced open. Complainant stated that the only thing that appeared to be missing from inside the residence was an AR-15 rifle. This case is being investigated.
Deputy Jeremy Nagle was dispatched to a store in reference to a theft that occurred. Upon arrival, Deputy Nagle met with the complainant who stated that a male subject came into the store and stole two cell phones. Complainant was able to give a description of the vehicle the subject was driving as well as a license plate. This case is under investigation.
