Weldon Eugene Barnett

 

Funeral services for Mr. Weldon Eugene Barnett, 76, of Deadwood, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Prospect Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
Mr. Weldon Eugene Barnett was born September 19, 1943 in Logansport, Louisiana. He passed this life November 9, 2019 in Combine, Texas. Weldon was born to the marriage of Allen Lane and Sybil Spradley Barnett. He was schooled in Carthage and later graduated from Logansport High School with the class of 1962. Mr. Barnett served his country 4 years through the U.S. Air Force and was later a reservist with the 307th Red Horse Unit.
He spent his career as a heavy equipment operator, known as the most qualified as well as the most colorful.
Mr. Barnett loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and his two dachshunds, Sydney and Josie. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Wayne Bagley, and William Henry Barnett.
Mr. Barnett is survived by his twin sons, Jason Barnett of DeBerry, Justin Barnett and wife Jennifer Barnett of Combine. Mother of his children, Janice Barnett-Anderson of Waskom. Grandchildren: Derra Barnett, Amy Douai, Ashley Kyles and Levi Hatley. Great-grandchildren: Bryleigh Courts, Emma Mills, Wyatt Douai, Ella Kyles, Logan Douai and Tobi Mae Kyles. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Bubba Ingram, Ronnie Gene Oden, Nick Nichols, Don Eiland, Greg Metcalf, Larry Joe Davis, Michael Ditmore, Derrek Rogers and Garth LaGrone. Sherman Spradley is serving as honorary pallbearer.
