Shelby County 4-H’ers Awarded District Level Gold Star

Two Shelby County 4-H youth were awarded the District 5 Gold Star at a banquet
on October 6, 2020 at The Barn in Nacogdoches. The Gold Star award is the
highest award given by Texas A&M University and is based on the 4-H member’s
project, leadership and citizenship/community service participation on the county
level. Receiving the award this year were Mr. Lance Holloway and Mr. Wesley
Wages.

Hemphill Order of the Easter Star General Store

A fundraiser to help with our benevolent work for Sabine County and scholarships for graduating seniors will be held November 6th and 7th, 2020 at the Hemphill Masonic Lodge.  The sale will start at 8 am.  Canned goods, including various flavors of pepper jellies, a variety of other jellies, pickled okras, relishes, bread, pies, cakes, cookies, and numerous other food items.  There will also be a variety of wall pictures, furniture, glassware, Christmas decorations, and clothes.  Please come

The Medicare Annual Open Enrollment Period for 2021 is now under way.
This is the time of the year when those with Medicare have the opportunity to make changes to
their coverage, from October 15 until December 7.
Now is the time for those with Medicare coverage to determine if their coverage is suiting their
