Timpson ISD High School student struck by lightning
Timpson VFD reports that a high school student was struck by lightning around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning. The student was in computer class when lightning came through the window striking the student in the face. Timpson Ambulance Service responded to the school and transported the student to the hospital. At the time of the report, the student was okay but suffering from a headache. No more information will be released regardind this incident or the student's name as a matter of privacy and respect. The student's family has been notified and were at the campus.
UPDATE FROM TIMPSON ISD ADMINISTRATION: TISD students are fine following a lightning storm that passed through our community this morning. According to early and preliminary reports, lightning did pass through one of the classroom windows and apparently hit one student who is currently being medically evaluated as a precautionary measure. The parents of that student have been notified.
