On Saturday, December 5th Gary ISD hosted their 8th annual Festival of Lights. Gary’s student council puts on the festival every year to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. The students involved in student council spend weeks before preparing by decoration the square with Christmas lights and scheduling the live performers and shopping booths.
TIMPSON - Dec. 6, 2015 - The home of Robert (Robbie) Holloway on 1971 N in the Caledonia community caught fire on Sunday morning resulting in a total loss. The residents were home when the fire started. Robbie was working on a truck in the backyard when he noticed smoke and flames coming from the house. He rushed inside and was able to get everyone in the home to safety outside.
The Gary ISD Student Council Festival of Lights is on Saturday, December 5th, in the Gary High School gymnasium beginning at 9:00 AM. There will be entertainment all day, with a new singing group every thirty minutes. There are over 35 craft booths, including a gift wrapping station, to finish out your Christmas shopping! On Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm the Griswold's of Murvaul are hosting the first annual Christmas Parade for boats, jet skis, or anything that you can find to decorate and float. There is no entry fee but there will be judges and prizes.
