Gary JH cross country competes at Longview event

Gary Junior High’s boy’s cross country team recently travelled to their first meet in Longview at LeTorneau University, held last week. Dakota Beckham placed ninth with a time of 13:47:49, Ryan Ecker placed 11th with 14:12.64, and Brandon Robles placed 15th with 14:39.75. Only First-15th places received medals, and there were 50 boys who raced. Alexis Rowe also ran a personal best time of 17:06.

Gary volleyball competes at Carlisle

The Gary Lady Bobcats volleyball team went 1-3 in their matchwith the Carlisle Lady Indians, at Carlisle,  on Friday September 25. The match scores were: 25-19, 30-28, 14-25, 25-17.
Leann Youngblood led with 11 kills, 3 aces and 8 digs. Sydney followed with 6 kills, 3 aces and 5 digs.
We are now 3-2 in District. We have a bye on Tuesday and play Overton Friday Oct. 2 at home.

Gary, Texas showed up in a big way at See You at the Pole 2015

Well over 100 Gary students, teachers, staff, parents, and other community members participated in See You at the Pole, a national event where students across the country joined at their campus flagpole to pray and honor God.  Student Isaac Feltman led the group with a message on the importance of prayer, honoring and praising God, and faith of Christian students in schools today.  Feltman read from Acts where Paul and Silas were imprisoned.  Students took turns praying with the group followe

Lady Bobcats sweep Lady Bears

The Gary Lady Bobcats Volleyball team played theTimpson Lady Bear last Tuesday at home.
Gary came out on top 3-0 over Timpson with the scores being, 25-17, 25-8,  and 25-19.
Leann Youngblood led  the Lady Bobcats with nine kills and three aces.
GHS is now 1-1 in district competition. They next play Shelbyville on Friday in Shelbyville at 3:30 due to their homecoming festivities.
