Beckham places in Choctaw Season opener

Ryley Beckham, a former Gary High School graduate, is now a part of the Mississippi Choctaw track team.  The Mississippi Choctaw Season Opener was Saturday, March 5. It was their first outdoor meet of the year. They have been running their indoor season since December and finished that up last semester. At this meet she ran the 200m dash and placed 3rd in her heat with a 27.04. She also ran the 100m dash and placed 3rd in that heat also with a 13.25.

Another major collission in Timpson at Hwy 84 and Hwy 59

At approximately 4pm on Thursday, March 3, 2016, Timpson PD – Officer Jake Metcalf and Police Chief Kent Graham, Timpson VFD, Timpson EMS, and State Trooper Taylor Buster responded to the intersection of Hwy 59 and Hwy 84 for a major collision.  This intersection (near Woodland Christian Church) is often the site of major vehicle collisions.  Timpson PD reports having worked 15 collisions at this intersection during 2015, 1 being a fatality.  Recently, TXDOT installed yellow signs “Cross Traf

Indys' law

 My family and I are all blessed to have your thoughts and prayers with us during this time in our lives. My niece, Indy, is recovering in Dallas from heart surgery. Her mother is Amanda Deason, the nurse at Libby Elementary in Carthage, TX and her father is Sam Deason, who works for Baker Hughes. Without her mother’s intuition, training as a nurse and God being with us on this entire journey Baby Indy might not be here with us today.

Weekenders High School fishing tournament

On Saturday February 20,2016 the Weekenders High School Fishing Division held a tournament on Martin Lake. There were a total of 30 teams for this tournament. The anglers had cloudy and windy conditions. Jace Lindsay from Beckville took first place and big bass. Lindsay total weight was 15.5lbs with big bass 5.09lbs. Second place went to Connor Zimermann of Hallsville with a total weight of 11.92lbs.
