On December 10 Panola College announced that 251 candidates qualified for graduation this semester. Students receiving multiple degrees or certificates include five for Associate of Arts in Teaching, 57 for Associate of Science, 80 for Associate of Applied Science, and 168 Certificates.

GARRISON - On December 16, 2015, Garrison PD seized approximately 12-grams of methamphetamine and 1-ounce of marijuana from David Ballard of Timpson, Texas. Ballard was arrested in the Family Dollar parking lot in Garrison, Texas. Ballard has been charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Tampering with Evidence.

The Garrison Lions Club has completed their pilot project to determine if the SPOT eye screening program will become part of the Club's community service activities. 86 kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students were screened in Garrison. 78 kindergarten and pre-kindergarten were screened in Timpson. Approximately 10% of those students screened need glasses and/or additional evaluation by eye professionals.
