Garrison VFD responds to stranded motorist in flood waters

At approx. 2:22pm on Wednesday June 17th the Garrison FD responded to a report of a flooded out vehicle on CR 267 approx. 2 miles south of Garrison. Upon arrival Garrison FD personal made contact with the driver who was out of the vehicle and stated that while passing threw the flooded area his car had stalled out. The driver was ok but had to have a wrecker come and pull out his vehicle.

All-District honors for District 23 2A baseball

All-District honors for District 23 2A baseball came out this week with the top honor for our area going to Freshman Landon Odom from Gary who received the Pitcher of the Year award.

Receiving First Team awards were: Pitcher— Brock Lawson, Joaquin; Tyler Davidson, Tenaha, Catcher—Kase Yates, Joaquin, Infielders— Badie Harvey, Gary; Adam Mason, Joaquin; Hunter Smith, Timpson. Outfield—Nate Belrose, Joaquin; Cody Lake, Gary.

PANOLA COLLEGE ANNOUNCES PRESIDENT’S LIST

Panola College is proud to announce the names of those students named to the President’s List for the spring 2015 semester. To qualify a student must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours with a grade point average between 3.8 and 4.0. Only courses applying toward an associate degree or certificate are included in the computation.
