Garrison Lady Bulldogs take Hemphill Lady Hornets Softball

The Garrison Lady Bulldogs visited the Hemphill Lady Hornets softball team last Monday and came away with a 7-4 win in District 22 3A play.

The Lady 'Dogs got up on HHS early with scores in the first inning from KiAudra Hayter and Kaily Cox which gave GHS a 2-0 advantage.

Garrison added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning and took a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Hornets answered back in the bottom half of the fourth inning with four runs which tied the contest at 4-4. Garrison committed four consecutive errors during the HHS rally while only allowing one hit and no earned runs!

Garrison did the rest offensively by scoring all the remaining runs of the game, one run in the sixth, by Lauren Hutto, and two in the seventh by Cadie Reneau and Christian Clark.

GHS led in hitting as well as they recorded five hits to Hemphill's two hits. Garrison struck out seven Hornet batters while HHS struck out just one. Walks were close with GHS having a 3-2 advantage over Hemphill.
