The Garrison Bulldogs varsity baseball team took a close, and high scoring, road game over the Woodville Eagles last Tuesday by a 11-10 score.
GHS is now 9-3 in District 22 3A play and trail only undefeated Central Heights with two games remaining.
Garrison took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning but Woodville chipped away at the Bulldog lead by scoring a run in each the first and second innings, and two more runs in the third, to tie the score at 4-4.
GHS went up 8-4 with four runs in the fourth inning and added three more runs in the top of the sixth inning which allowed them to extend their lead to 11-4. It appeared Garrison had taken control of the contest until a three hit rally in the final inning saw Woodville pull to within one run after scoring six runs in the frame.
Garrison out hit the Eagles 9-6 during the contest. Ty Hayter led the Bulldogs with three hits. Travis Wisener had two hits and 3 RBI's.
Christopher Edwards pitched four innings for the 'Dogs and struck out five batters. Teammate Travis Wisener pitched three innings and struck out two batsmen. The Bulldogs have clinched a playoff berth but game info is not yet available.
