Pat Franks Crawford to Speak at August TAGHS Meeting

 

If Timpson ISD had a Hall of Fame, Pat Franks Crawford would be in it. Her name, like those of Herbert Eakin, Preston Billingsley, and Tommy Mack Hooper, is forever linked to Timpson schools. When she retired from teaching at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, Mrs. Crawford left a remarkable legacy of almost half a century of service to Timpson High School.

 

Timpson Bears football team expects improvement in 2015

Timpson Athletic Director and Head Football Coach James Conway is proud of this year's Bears football team and looks forward to this Friday's scrimmage against the visiting Groveton Indians.

Conway and his staff look to use the season's first competition to distinguish which of the team's skills are strengths and which attributes need improvement.

Gary Elementary hosting first Read-a-thon

The 1st Annual Gary ISD Elementary Read -A-Thon was held in our Elementary Repository of Knowledge (The Library).   Fifteen excited 2nd-6th grade students began the morning with a tour of the renovated library.  They were eager to spend time searching through the shelves for just the perfect book.  From 9am-11am they explored, read, and took AR tests, which count toward first six weeks awards.

City of Joaquin under Burn Ban

Per Joaquin Fire Marshal Jeremy Boyett, the city limits of Joaquin is under a burn ban effective at 6:00 p.m. On Tuesday, August 4th, 2015. Due to extremely dry conditions, the ban will remain in effect until further notice. All outdoor burning within the city limits of Joaquin is strictly prohibited.
