Tenaha Elementary had our fifth Elementary Parent Night for 4th and 5th grades on Thursday, October 16, 2015 at 5:00 pm. We had 21 students represented out of 54 total students in fourth grade and 7 students out of 35 total students in fifth grade. Teachers discussed standards based report cards, portfolios, homework procedures, curriculum expectations for the year, STAAR testing requirements and ways that parents can help their children at home. Joaquin FFA participated in two East Texas livestock events, the East Texas State Fair in Tyler, Texas and the East Texas Show Star Series in Nacogdoches, Texas. In Tyler, Trey Harvey won Grand Champion Red Angus and won his class with each of his four heifers.

Wednesday at New Summerfield, Tenaha High School, and Junior High, Cross Country teams competed in the District 22-2A District Meet. Tenaha won three out of the four district team titles that were up for grabs. For the first time ever, Tenaha is home to the Varsity Boys and Girls District Cross Country Champions. Also, the Tenaha Junior High Boys team ran their way to the Junior High Championship as well.
