Bulldogs defeat Pirates

The Garrison Bulldogs football team won last Friday’s  conference football game, on the road, over the Deweyville Pirates,  by a score of 27-12. Garrison now stands at 2-0 in District 11 Class 3A play, and have an overall standing of 5-2. Deweyville falls to 2-5 overall, and are 0-2 in conference play.
Garrison only allowed a safety to the Pirates in the first half, and led Deweyville 13-2 at halftime.

Timpson Cross Country Team competed in New Summerfield

The Timpson JH Cross Country Team competed in New Summerfield on Wednesday and crushed the competition. The girls had their best performance of the year and came home as the District Champions! The Lady Bears finished with five runners in the top 10 with Erica Renick 10th, Ashton Harris 8th, Jaycee Campbell 3rd, Harlie Ware 2nd, and the individual District Champion was Sadie Ramsey 1st. Also on the JH XC team is Mckenzie Wynn and Alexis Miller.

Wildcats suffer second district loss

The Mount Enterprise Wildcats varsity football team suffered their second straight District 11 Class 2A loss last Friday when they fell, at home, to the Maud Cardinals by a 54-34 score. The Wildcats now fall to 0-2 in conference action and are 3-4 overall for the season.
Cade Prince put Maud up 7-0 early with a 16-yard touchdown just 18 seconds into the game.

Tenaha Parent Night

Tenaha Elementary had our fifth Elementary Parent Night for 4th and 5th grades on Thursday, October 16, 2015 at 5:00 pm.  We had 21 students represented out of 54 total students in fourth grade and 7 students out of 35 total students in fifth grade.  Teachers discussed standards based report cards, portfolios, homework procedures, curriculum expectations for the year, STAAR testing requirements and ways that parents can help their children at home.  We were very pleased with the turn out and

Bears in the Sky project achieves mission goals

With enough helium lift to carry a four pound payload of cameras, electronics, and radio antennas to the edge of space, the seventh near space balloon launch project of Bears In The Sky, dubbed NS7, lifted off from Bear Football Stadium, October 6, under the sponsorship and ‘wowed’ eyes of Devon Energy Corporation, spectator students, and visiting adults looking on.  There was no shortage of cameras to witness the sixty foot tall stack, the tallest ever launched by Timpson, lift off effortles

Tenaha wins district cross country titles

Wednesday at New Summerfield, Tenaha High School, and Junior High, Cross Country teams competed in the District 22-2A District Meet. Tenaha won three out of the four district team titles that were up for grabs.  For the first time ever, Tenaha is home to the Varsity Boys and Girls District Cross Country Champions.  Also, the Tenaha Junior High Boys team ran their way to the Junior High Championship as well.
