Timpson's Frontier Days are here!

Today's Fourth of July Timpson Frontier Days activities kicked-off with the annual Frontier Days parade  which took place at the Timpson Square starting at10 a.m. Numerous other activities like the car show, pet show, dominos and washer tournament will take place after the parade. Carnival activities, the cake sale, singings, laser show and staged gunfights will take place in the later stages of the day.

Tenaha school board holds meetings on Monday, June 22.

Tenaha ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday, June 22, 2015 for a public meeting to discuss the school District’s federal programs, the parental involvement handbook, and the student/parent school compact. Mrs. Martha Boren gave a brief summary of each program or handbook at the meeting including the targeted students of each program. Parents, community, and business members, teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, and other school personnel were encouraged to attend to provide input.

TENAHA CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY

Tenaha will have an Independence Day celebration Saturday, July 4 at Tenaha’s Tiger Stadium. The event is sponsored by the American Legion Post 520, Tenaha Businessmen’s Club and several other businesses in and out of Shelby County.  The program is presented free of charge. The gates will open at 7:00 p.m.  The Calvary Boys Trio will provide the entertainment at 8:00 p.m. followed by a large fireworks display at 9:00 p.m.

 

THS Cheerleaders Attend Camp

The Timpson Varsity Cheerleaders recently attended UCA Cheer Camp at Great Wolf Lodge.  The girls received Superior Ribbons each night at evaluation.  They also came home as the Camp Champions in Cheer, and were 2nd in both Extreme Routine and Game Day Competitions.  Kara Thorne, Cadey Belrose, Molly Sanford, Jasmine Rogers, and Becca Mathis were chosen as All- Americans. The THS sponsors are Gina Duke and Nicole Amos.

James Beasley receives Golden Trowel award from Masons

  On Thursday the 18th of June, Timpson Lodge had a meeting to HONOR one of our own members with the Golden Trowel award. This member’s contribution to Masonry is exceeded only by his desire to remain anonymous. By anonymous, I mean that he performs all the duty and work that is asked of him, by the Lodge, with no intent of any recognition or reward.
