The Adventures of Coco & Jess

Jess and Coco were in librarian Nell’s office and overheard a conversation with John Langston in which he was planning a trip to Buffalo, NY to attend a brick swap. Jess remembered that Buffalo was his middle name and wondered if he might find some long lost relatives up there. Coco said “Let’s Go!” and they hitched a ride with John and Patty Langston. John told them there would be a side trip to Corpus Christi, TX so he could get some continuing education credits for his pharmacist license.

      Shelby County Sheriff's Department Investigators are actively investigating several thefts and burglaries that were reported in the Joaquin area recently. Investigators are following up on all tips and information that is provided.


Joaquin vs. Groveton boys basketball (Jan. 2, 2016)

Joaquin- The Joaquin Rams continue to show improvement on the young basketball season. They came 
out of the 7th Annual Tenaha Tiger Holiday Hoops Scholarship Classic with a 2-2 record to improve to 9-7, 
then improved to 9-7 on Saturday afternoon here at Joaquin ISD Gymnasium with a decisive 58-29 
trouncing of the Groveton Indians.

Timpson resident arrested by Garrison PD for Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Tampering with Evidence

GARRISON - On December 16, 2015, Garrison PD seized approximately 12-grams of methamphetamine and 1-ounce of marijuana from David Ballard of Timpson, Texas. Ballard was arrested in the Family Dollar parking lot in Garrison, Texas.  Ballard has been charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Tampering with Evidence.

Texas Girls Coaches Association Announces 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees and Award Winners

The 2019 Hall of Fame inductees have been selected by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. The inductees will be honored at the Honor Awards Banquet in Arlington, Texas on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Arlington Hilton Hotel. Reception will be at 6:00 PM, and the Banquet will begin at 7:00 PM.
