The City of Tenaha has recently received notice of a potential Contract award from the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs (TDA) for street improvements  . Accordingly, the City is seeking to contract with a qualified Professional Administrator or Service Provider firm to administer the contract.

Shelby County Commissioners Court

Precincts 1 and 2 approved to receive heavy equipment

 

Shelby County Commissioners Court approved two separate motions to lease heavy road equipment for Precinct 1 and Precinct 2. Stewart Cobb of First National Bank in Wichita Falls presented the details of the proposals to the Court on Monday, June 13, 2016.

Shelby Agri Products earns Texas Governor’s Award for 2016 Small Business

 

Maria Harkness and Steven Harkness, who own Shelby Agri Products were awarded, by order of Governor Greg Abbott, the State of Texas Small Business Award for 2016. The award was presented in Waco by Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller.

VFW Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Lynn Silvey was selected as Teacher of the Year by Shelby County Memorial VFW Post 8904 and was also the VFW District 19 first place winner.  She received her awards from Post Commander Gene Hutto at the Memorial Day program held, Monday, May 30th at the First United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Silvey teaches HS English Arts at Joaquin High School.
