THS Earns TEA Designations

 

Timpson High School achieved a Met Standard rating in the 2016 state accountability ratings.  This is the highest rating a campus can earn.  In addition to achieving a Met Standard rating, THS also was awarded 4 distinction designations based on achievement in performance indicators relative to a group of 40 campuses of similar type, size and student demographics.  The distinctions Timpson High School received are:

Leann Youngblood 12 kills, 7 aces, 5 digs

Taylor Rodgers 27 assists, 3 aces, 1 kill

Timpson ISD Bear Update 9/27/2016

 

See You at the Pole – The Timpson High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host  See You at the Pole  Wednesday, September 28 at 7:20 a.m. at the flagpole in front of the high school.  Kelan Foster will lead a devotional and start the prayer circle.  Students, parents, TISD staff and community members are invited to attend.  Mrs. Teresa Jourden is the FCA sponsor.

Joaquin FFA exhibitors participated in the Four States Fair Heifer Show on September 10th.

 
Abi Hooper exhibited the Reserve Champion Chianina & the Reserve Champion Beefmaster. Abi also had a second place Beefmaster heifer and a fourth place Charolais heifer. 
Jake Neal exhibited the Reserve Champion Limousin heifer and also had another class winning Limousin Heifer.
Lauren Neal place first in her class of Limousin heifers.

TIMPSON - 18 wheeler fire at intersection of US HWY 59 & US HWY 84

An 18-wheeler caught fire in Timpson at the intersection of US HWY 59 and US HWY 84 in Timpson at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. The driver stated that the engine stalled and after allowing the truck to coast out of the way of the intersection, he saw smoke coming from the engine compartment and he immediately evacuated the truck. The driver escaped without injury. Timpson VFD was assisted on the scene by Garrison VFD.

Timpson ISD is kicking off their Teens in the Driver Seat program!

 

Car crashes kill more teens than any other cause, accounting for about 2,800 teen deaths per year. Along with inexperience, the top five dangers teens face are ones that young drivers and their parents know the least about: driving at night, speeding and street racing, distractions, low seat belt use, and alcohol use.

Bussey arrested on possession charges

On February 18, 2020 at approximately 5 p.m., Deputy Josh Tipton with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Highway 59 in Timpson for a vehicle safety inspection. The vehicle turned onto Church Street and accelerated in an obvious attempt to flee. The vehicle came to a stop and the driver exited the vehicle. Tipton immediately recognized the driver a Tyquwon Bussey, 25, of Timpson.
