Melanie Gustin of Timpson named to the SAU Dean's List

MAGNOLIA, AR (01/07/2016)-- Melanie Gustin earned a spot on the Spring 2015 Dean's List at Southern Arkansas University.

Gustin, a senior, is an Agriculture Science/Pre-Vet major from Timpson.

Gustin was one of 442 students named to the Dean's List. To qualify, a student must complete 12 or more semester hours and attain a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Lady Rams Battle Past Lady Bulldogs, 45-37

- It certainly wasn’t what you would call a pretty win, but a mark in the “W” column is something any fan will take when their team is playing up two classifications in any sport. That is just what the Joaquin Lady Rams did here at Joaquin ISD Gymnasium Tuesday night, using a fast start to pull away for 45-37 win over the Carthage Lady Bulldogs in their final tune-up before District 22AA play begins on Friday.

Rams Stampede Pioneers, 71-31

-The Joaquin Rams stretched their current win streak to three games, and pushed their season record to 10-7 with a 71-31 win over an outgunned and overmatched Grand Cane Central Pioneers squad here at Joaquin ISD Gymnasium Tuesday night. The Rams opened the game with a 13-3 run, with junior guard JaKendrick “Pooh” Smith scoring the all 13. The Rams would lead 15-3 at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back.
