Melanie Gustin of Timpson named to the SAU Dean's List

 

MAGNOLIA, AR (05/25/2016)-- Melanie Gustin earned a spot on the Spring 2016 Dean's List at Southern Arkansas University.

Gustin is a Senior Agricultural Science (Pre-Veterinary) major from Timpson.

Gustin was one of 426 students named to the Dean's List. To qualify, a student must complete 12 or more semester hours and attain a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Gary Woman Arrested After Leading Deputies on High-Speed Pursuit:

A Gary woman was arrested on Thursday after she led local authorities on a high-speed pursuit through the city of Carthage and onto Highway 79 South.

According to jail records, Rachell Rae Long, 33, was charged with evading arrest, possession of marijuana, and also two charges of possession of a controlled substance.

The Board of Trustees of Joaquin ISD met at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 for the regular meeting of the month.

 

The following Board officers were elected: Chrisco Bragg, President; Ronnie Belrose, Vice President; and Tam Hearnsberger, Secretary. Other members of the Board are Bill Mason, Thomas Harvey, Jimmy Hamilton, and Jeff Cater.

Juneteenth Parade Mt Enterprise

On behalf of DurtyWurx Ministries, we are pleased to announce the first ever Juneteenth Parade and Celebration in Mt. Enterprise, TX. This is an all-inclusive event celebrating the freedom of black Americans from the bonds of slavery. We will also take time to honor black excellence and its contributions to American History. We en- courage you to participate and make this an event to remember.

Ramah Cemetery Day-June 4, 2016

Ramah Cemetery Day will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4, 2016.  The business meeting will start at 11:00 am with a covered dish dinner to follow at noon in the gym at Ramah Baptist Church.   Please plan to attend to honor those who have passed away and visit with old friends.     Ron Barker
