VFW Stands With Belgium

VFW National Commander John Biedrzycki said the VFW stands with ally Belgium as it mourns in the wake of a vicious and cowardly attack on Tuesday by radical Islamic extremists who are “hell-bent on destroying us and our entire way of life." The Chief called America vulnerable because it has porous borders, a broken immigration system, and elected and appointed officials who refuse to recognize this enemy as a threat to national security.

On Tuesday, March 22nd members of Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 visited Joaquin High School to present awards to high school sophomore Annalyn DeChamplain and high school English Teacher Lynn Silvey.

Annalyn placed third in the VFW District 19 Voice of Democracy competition for her 3-5-minute essay on this year’s theme “My Vision for America” and received an engraved plaque and check for $100.00.
