VFW Stands With Belgium

VFW National Commander John Biedrzycki said the VFW stands with ally Belgium as it mourns in the wake of a vicious and cowardly attack on Tuesday by radical Islamic extremists who are “hell-bent on destroying us and our entire way of life." The Chief called America vulnerable because it has porous borders, a broken immigration system, and elected and appointed officials who refuse to recognize this enemy as a threat to national security.

JOAQUIN STUDENT AND TEACHER HONORED BY VFW

On Tuesday, March 22nd members of Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 visited Joaquin High School to present awards to high school sophomore Annalyn DeChamplain and high school English Teacher Lynn Silvey. 

 

Annalyn placed third in the VFW District 19 Voice of Democracy competition for her 3-5-minute essay on this year’s theme “My Vision for America” and received an engraved plaque and check for $100.00. 

 

Bobcats seize victory thanks to late single, drop Martinsville 10-5

 

Bobcats and Martinsville passed the lead back and forth five times on Tuesday at Gary ISD, but in the end Bobcats pulled out a 10-5 win in seven innings over Martinsville .

Bobcats finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. Bobcats scored on an RBI single by Michael Quiroz off Hooper, bringing home Cody Lake.
