Week by Week News

            At the close of the 4th six weeks, our students and teachers have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming state assessments. The students are working and studying diligently to make sure that they ace their tests! Meanwhile in softball, our team won on Friday against Broaddus with a score of 14-8! Way to go Galcats! While they are winning their games, other students have gone to Alto for their sport meets.

Red Ribbon Ceremony for Dollar General

On Tuesday February 23rd  Dollar General store manager, Kim Sirois, held their “soft opening” amidst a host of Timpson Area Chamber members, TISD Jr. Chamber/Shelby County Ambassadors, customers ready to shop the new facility and some very busy store employees. Dustin Norris with the Timpson Area Chamber of Commerce gave a brief overview of Dollar General’s economic impact and contribution to our community. TACOC furnished donuts and along with the Jr.

On February 24th Timpson High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America  sponsored a two part event to encourage students to pay attention to the top 5 driving dangers facing teenagers. These dangers include: distracted driving, drinking and driving, drowsy driving, seat belt use, and speeding.
