The Tenaha ISD Board of Trustees was called to order by Board President Robert Barton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 16, with all trustees present: Aaron Roland, Ronald Samford Vickie Jernigan, Mike Ogden, Joe Anderson, and David Fallin.
The Joaquin ISD School Board met in special session at noon in the Joaquin Boardroom with the following members present: Tam Hearnsberger and Thomas Harvey
Members absent: Chrisco Bragg, Ronnie Belrose, Jimmy Hamilton

Tenaha Elementary 3rd grade students enjoyed a field trip on Thursday, May 12th to the Texas State Railroad in Rusk, Texas.
Tenaha Elementary students in PK - 5th grades participated in the Tree House Bully Program presented by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (ADAC). Students were encouraged to say no to drugs and discussed how to handle bulllies throughout life.
The Tenaha High School ELA department will be hosting a play on May 18th in the High School Cafetorium. There will be two performances of I Don't Want To Talk About It. This play focuses on bullying and its adverse effects. Performance times will be 9:30am and 2:30 pm. Parents and community members are invited to attend.

Madison County Whizbang 2016
The Madison County Whizbang was held on April 30th for juniors and intermediates. On Sunday, May 1st the senior I and senior II’s competed.
Shelby county 4h shooters had five kids participate in the shoot. Participating on Saturday were Colby Lout, Hagan Craig, Lance Holloway and Colton Gutermuth. On Sunday, Logan Holloway participated. Results are as follows;
