Timpson FFA News

The Timpson FFA had a very busy summer and have started off the school year with a bang! In June, Ally Kimbro, Baylor Kimbro, Cale Cornelius, Mayson Harbison, and Brecken Kimbro travelled to College Station, Texas to the National Santa Gertrudis Show where all exhibitors finished in the top of their classes and Mayson won his class with his bred and owned heifer FENDI.  In July, Timpson FFA was represented by Timpson FFA Officers- April Ramsey, Reid Peace, Ashlynn Lindgren, Emmalee Richardson, Colton Gutermuth, and Hunter Sample at the Texas FFA State Convention in Fort Worth Texas- and Avery Metcalf was named 3rd overall Market Goat at the Belt Buckle Classic bringing home some impressive hardware. August found April Ramsey in Buna Texas at the Buckle Bash where she was named Champion Simmental, Champion Exotic, and Supreme Champion Heifer. 6 Students: Cale Cornelius, Kolton Smelley, Ashlynn Lindgren, Colton Gutermuth, Taylor Gutermuth, and Megan Gutermuth also started the long 6 week journey of raising broilers- they will compete next weekend at the Shelby County Poultry Festival- Good luck to these exhibitors. September has been non-stop for Timpson FFA as we started out the month in Texarkana Arkansas at the Four States Fair with April Ramsey and Claire Johnson- both young ladies exhibited heifers. April finished first in her class with her simmental heifer and Claire finished 5th in a large class of polled Hereford heifers- we are excited to have Claire on our show team this year. Last week, Mayson Harbison and Cale Cornelius competed at the East Texas State Fair- Cale Cornelius won two classes and Mayson Harbison won one class and was 3rd in his other- We are super proud to announce that Cale was named Grand Champion Santa Gertrudis and Mayson was selected as Reserve Champion Santa Gertrudis! Both exhibitors were selected by the judge for showmanship.

-We would like to wish Avery Metcalf and Family good luck as they travel to Dallas with the Timpson FFA to compete in the Market Goat Show at the Texas State Fair!
