New Columbia Missionary Baptist Church revival a huge success!

New Columbia Missionary Baptist Church recently held her annual Thanksgiving revival on November 22- 24.  Her members all agree the revival effort was a resounding success!

The church’s pastor, Calvin Gould of Dialville TX, presented a series of three messages.  On Sunday night he spoke about looking back to see how God worked in the lives of several Old Testament people.  The subject of his sermon Monday night was looking to the present that now may be the only time we have to serve the Lord.  He concluded the series with a message about looking to the future promised by God to his children.

Attendees of the revival were blessed with an outstanding song service of praise.  Bro. Jim Slocumb, an energetic octogenarian, inspired the crowd with his enthusiasm for serving the Lord through song.  Bro. Slocumb, his wife, Dorothy, and their son presented several specials.  Others presenting special music included Bonnie Gould, Sandy Jones, and Alexis Morris.  Enhancing the song service were the talents of Linda Ritter at the piano and Belinda Solomon at the organ.

Following the conclusion of services on Tuesday night the church and her guests enjoyed a time of Christian fellowship at the church’s traditional soup supper.

New Columbia, located in the Weaver community on FM 1970 S, near Timpson, has a history that reaches back for more than a century.  Services are held there each Sunday at 10:00 AM.  The members invite everyone to join them for worship and Christian fellowship.
