Timpson Food For Thought Pantry & Thrift Store

Today I had the honor of seeing an awesome team help folks in our community. Timpsons JCC members were on hand to help the other volunteers at Timpson's Food For Thought Pantry. The pantry serves an estimated 125 people each month. Food For Thought will soon have a new home right across the street from Timpson First Baptist Church located at 715 N. Second Streeet. The pantry is open from 10 a.m. until noon on the third Friday of each month, but the hope is to add more pantry days in the future. Once the new building is complete, the food bank will be in the front and the thrift store will be in the back of the building. Mayor Debra Smith hopes that the pantry will be complete early in 2020 and also hopes that the pantry will be open throughout the week. The work the volunteers do is often hard work but the food bank never lacks volunteers. The third Friday of each month is SR. box day. Each person over the age of 60 that falls within the income guidelines from the USDA will receive an extra box. There is a waiting list and if you miss two or more months you will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list. Non perishable donations are always welcome and as well as monetary donations.

To find out how to contribute please contact Debra Smith at 936-254-3268 or Dee Daniel at 936-332-0387

I want to give a special thank you to Christi Smith for submitting a photo of the members of Timpson  JCC.
