U.S. Congressman Will Hurd Joins Alamo Board of Directors

SAN ANTONIO – Yesterday evening, San Antonio native and United States Congressman Will Hurd was elected to the Alamo Trust, Inc. board. Congressman Hurd will provide leadership and strategic direction during the implementation of the Alamo Plan.
"As a champion of our National Parks in Congress, it is an incredible honor to be named to the Alamo Trust, Inc. Board,” said Congressman Hurd. “The Alamo is a state and national treasure as well as a symbol to the world that a few can stand up to the many for a just cause."
Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush applauded Congressman Hurd’s election, touting his dedication to uniting Texans and increasing the Alamo’s focus on the Battle of 1836. “Congressman Hurd is a longtime friend and trusted colleague,” said Commissioner Bush. “Will is just the individual needed to help us unite Texans on this historic undertaking to protect and preserve the Alamo for generations of Texans to come. As a San Antonio native that has served both the people of Texas and the United States as a whole, he is uniquely positioned to ensure the ideas of liberty and freedom are advanced at the Alamo.”
Alamo Trust Board member and former Texas Secretary of State Esperanza "Hope" Andrade lauded Congressman Hurd’s notable ties to San Antonio and inspirational strategic thinking. "I am excited to have Congressman Hurd join the Alamo Trust. Board of Directors. The Board looks forward to his sage advice and guidance on strategic direction for the Alamo," Andrade said.
Chairman of Alamo Trust Welcome Wilson Jr.  joined fellow board member "Hope" Andrade in welcoming Congressman Hurd by saying, “There is no doubt, Congressman Hurd knows the people of Texas, and their unique perspective on the 'Texas Way' of life. His unique background and knowledge makes him a critical member of this team.”
