“Where is your Accuser?”

From time to time we all struggle with sin in our lives and we are all trying to find our place in this world not unlike the young man in my latest article. We question our salvation; we struggle with forgiveness or any other opposition in our lives. I have struggled many times in my life time concerning how to respond to life’s challenges that come my way, like how to handle grief, or stress when it enters our life. Let me relay a story about a group of believers trying to find a place to get together to study God’s Word and try to figure how to handle their own struggles. Many years ago our group met in the home of one of the believers and we had gone through all the channels to make sure we were following all the rules governing “ Home churches”, well after a while the neighbor of that group was unhappy about the noise and all the cars next door. He took our group to court. On the day of the hearing our entire group was in attendance to face our accuser. Both sides gave a compelling story and the Judge called for a recess before he reviewed the paperwork our accuser was to present. He wanted to make sure we had not broken any laws governing the meeting for an organized group we were holding in this home. While on recess everyone left the courtroom besides this young women and the Pastor of our group, we stayed and prayed for the outcome of the hearing. While we were praying the young lady looked up and right above the judge’s bench was a window just as two doves landed on the window ledge outside the window. They were only there a short time and then flew away. The judge returned and asks for the records the neighbor had kept on the comings and goings of this group of believers, he was looking them over and looked down at our accuser and said “Where are the records, these pages are blank?” The case was dismissed and we continued to hold our services until we were blessed with enough funds to build a small church. I still believe to this day that the Spirit of God in the form of a Dove erased the pages of our accusers. John 8:10-11 states,” When Jesus had lifted up himself; and saw none but the women, he said unto her, women, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee?” “She said, no man, Lord. And Jesus said to her, neither do I condemn you: go, and sin no more.” He is still saying that to us today, set aside that thing that so easily besets us and go and sin no more. Who are we to hold a grudge, not forgive someone who we accuse when Jesus himself died on the cross to forgive us of all our sins?  GO AND SIN NO MORE, as always respectfully yours, Roger and Donna Harding 472 CR 4775 Timpson, Texas 75975
