Frontier Days Pony Express promotes historic celebration

The Pony Express is currently marching through our small towns promoting the upcoming Frontier Days festival scheduled to take place in Timpson from June 4-7, 2019. The Pony Express consists of Danny Dixon, riding on his trusty steed “Pepper”, and his daughter, Sarah Dixon, is riding on her own horse, “Gypsy”. Accompanied by the mother, Rose Dixon, and event organizer Marilyn Corder, the team is visiting the downtown areas of our community and meeting with the respective town mayors and local news outlets to distribute event flyers and promote the historic Frontier Days celebration. So far, the towns of Mt. Enterprise, Garrison, Joaquin, Center, and Timpson have been visited. For those who are unaware Frontier Days is a 4-day community-centric festival that favors local businesses and families. Local vendors set up stalls for food and goods, rides and games are set up, and live music is played. This is all supplemented by planned activities, such as a parade, car show, and an Outlaw’s Gun Fighter’s show, among other events.
