Loretta McGuirt, 89, of Logansport, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021


Loretta McGuirt, 89, of Logansport, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2021, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Bro. Joe Walker will officiate. Interment will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery in Joaquin.

Born November 26, 1931, in Center, Loretta is the daughter of the late Howard Joe Taylor and Eva S Stanley Taylor.  Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and flowers.  Loretta was a member of Logansport Missionary Baptist Church in Logansport, Louisiana.

She is survived by her children, Karen Fancher and husband Rodger of Huxley, Texas, Beverly Gibbs and husband James of Logansport, Louisiana, and Guelda Samford of Center, Texas, Jimmy Strong of Center, Texas, Sheila Walker and husband Joe of Joaquin, Texas, Mike Strong of Center, Texas, Annette Bounds and husband Alan of Logansport, Louisiana, and Mary May of Joaquin, Texas, Tommie Deaton and husband Paul of Nacogdoches, Texas, and LaJuan Hallo and husband Mike of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Scott Still, Todd Tillman, Gregg Tillman, Dale Fancher, Angie Jones, Bryan Gibbs, Lisa Sanford, Chelle Mooney, Tony Walker, Michael Strong, April Knight, Hunter Bounds, Josh Hankins, and Micah Hankins; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dixie Barnes; and longtime friends, Wayne Mancil and Lillian Windham.

Preceded in death by her parents, Howard Joe Taylor and Eva S Stanley Taylor; brother, Joe Taylor; and granddaughter, Sherri Daniels.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Bounds, Bryan Gibbs, Tony Walker, Josh Hankins, Micah Hankins, Dale Fancher, and Michael Strong. Honorary pallbearers will be Jace Bagwell, Bo Mooney, Luke Mooney, Zachary Sanford, Al Yelverton, Gage Deason, and Jake Deason.
